Cincy Chic: When did you start working with The Patty Brisben Foundation and what’s your official title?
Amy Isenogle:
I began working with the Foundation in February of this year. My official title is Executive Director.

Cincy Chic: What did you do before this?
Isenogle:
Prior to working for The Patty Brisben Foundation, I was the marketing director for the Greater Cincinnati Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. I worked with corporate sponsors of the Race for the Cure and that is how I began my relationship with Pure Romance. Pure Romance has been a bronze sponsor of the Race for the past two years, so that’s how I first learned about the company and its Foundation.

Cincy Chic: Why is this Foundation not your typical non-profit?
Isenogle:
Pure Romance hosts “not your typical party,” why would our Foundation be anything less? But seriously, it’s because we have taken a progressive approach to women’s sexual health and are making a commitment to the research and education of women everywhere.

Cincy Chic: What are the Foundation’s goals?
Isenogle:
To improve educational resources for women and healthcare professionals regarding women’s sexual health. To encourage women to embrace a positive self image of themselves and their sexuality as part of healthy living.

Cincy Chic: What are your personal goals to accomplish for the Foundation?
Isenogle:
To educate the community about what we are doing, involve more women (and men) in our events and in turn be able to fund more cutting edge research.

Cincy Chic: Do you consider the very existence of the Foundation a big step for womankind?
Isenogle:
Yes. What sets us apart is that we are addressing the issues of more women by looking at not only problematic issues but being more progressive in our commitment to research. We will then let the research drive the programs that we fund.

Cincy Chic: How can people support the Foundation?
Isenogle:
You can support the Foundation by attending any of our upcoming events: A fundraising belly dance event on May 9th at Kira’s Oasis (I mean really…how fun!), our signature event, which is our gala, on Saturday, November 1st or by making a donation via our Web site.

Cincy Chic: What’s your favorite thing about Patty?
Isenogle:
That Patty started this company in her basement 15 years ago, so that she could provide for her family and still have a flexible schedule to spend time with them, too! She loved the fact that she could help educate people and enhance their relationships as a whole. Pure Romance still holds these same values and now the commitment is carried through to the Foundation.

Cincy Chic: Let’s switch to personal for a moment…what’s your favorite thing about Cincinnati?
Isenogle:
Honestly, my favorite thing about Cincinnati is when I’m returning home from a trip and come around 75 from the airport and see the city…what a beautiful downtown we have! I love to travel but I also love to come back home!
