Cincy Chic: When did you start your blog CincinNatalie?
Natalie Folchi, Founder of CincinNatalie: I started CincinNatalie this past February (February 22 at 9:04 a.m., but who’s counting?), and have officially been part of the blogging world for five months.
Cincy Chic: What inspired you to do start this new adventure?
Folchi:, I was an avid blog reader for a long, long time. As a visual person who loves to write, starting my own blog was something I dreamed about, but I was too afraid to take the leap. I had all of the typical excuses standing in my way (I don’t have a professional camera, I don’t have the time, What if no one reads it?, What if I fail?). Finally, I came to the realization that the excuses were just keeping me from taking a chance and doing something I loved. I quickly went from “what if” to “what excuses?” At the end of the day, the only thing standing in my way was myself. Hitting the “Publish” button on my first post was both exciting and a little nerve-wrecking, but I’m so happy I did. There’s no turning back now!
Cincy Chic: What types of topics do you write about for your readers?
Folchi: CincinNatalie is a lifestyle blog with a Cincinnati focus. I blog about everything from fashion, to DIY, to places around the city I love to visit. Sometimes, I’ll even cook for you guys (I have this amazing ability to destroy my kitchen in a matter of minutes).
Cincy Chic: What do you hope for the future of CincinNatalie?
Folchi: I blog because I love it, which is so important. If I had gone into it for other reasons, I’d burn out quickly. I hope to continue to grow my blog in the future, and help Cincinnati residents and out-of-towners see how truly amazing our city really is.
Cincy Chic: What do you love most about blogging?
Folchi: It’s something that is completely, 100 percent mine. I love constantly challenging my creativity, meeting other bloggers in the area and having the freedom to develop and grow my blog on my terms. But the best part? It’s fun! Blogging has pushed me to try new places in the city, and document my experiences along the way (even if it means being the obnoxious girl who takes pictures of her food).
Cincy Chic: Do you have any favorite posts or adventures?
Folchi: I love to travel and see different parts of the country and the world. But, as corny as this sounds, some of my recent greatest adventures have been right here at home. Our city has come such a long way, and it’s amazing to see. Through CincinNatalie, I’m able to experience Cincinnati in a different light, and I hope to inspire you to do the same.
Cincy Chic: Where can readers go to learn more?
Folchi: Stop by my site, www.cincin-natalie.com any time! And be sure to tag along with me on random daily adventures via Facebook and Instagram.
