Cincinnati Celebrates for a Cure
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and across the Greater Cincinnati area there are tons of cancer-combating events in which to take part to raise awareness, help fund cancer research and celebrate survival.
Get your dancing shoes ready. It’s time for the fourth annual Bosom Ball for Breast Cancer. Admission is $20, which includes musical acts Thriving Ivory, Marie Digby, Mat Nathanson and Metro Station. There will be a silent auction feature autographed items from Mariah Carey, Duran Duran, The Jonas Brothers, Colbie Caillat, David Cook, David Archuleta and more.
Jag’s Steak and Seafood Sweetest Day: Oct. 17-18

Miami University Women’s Soccer Game: Oct. 17
Kick cancer where it hurts by attending Miami University soccer field and participate in their raffle and other fundraising activities. Proceeds go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Chick-fil-A Breast Cancer Awareness Event: Oct. 21
The Chick-fil-A restaurant at Tower Place is hosting a fundraiser with proceeds going to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Anyone donating at least $1 will receive a free three-count serving of the new Chick-fil-A Chick-n-Strips. Chick-fil-A matches all donations. Jeff Thomas of Q102 will be supporting the cause too, dressed as a cow and urging you to eat more chicken. There will also be free samples of pink strawberry hand-spun milkshakes from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Bras with Flair on the Square 2008: Oct. 23-24
Oct. 23-24, from 11a.m.-1p.m. and 4p.m.-6p.m for the bra display in Fountain Square Cincy Chic continues Bras with Flair on the Square event this year, raising awareness and supporting breast cancer through the decoration and display of colorful bras on Fountain Square. Donations will be accepted from Oct. 1-Oct. 22. The big event is Oct. 23-24, from 11a.m.-1p.m. and 4p.m.-6p.m when the decorated bras will be displayed and auctioned off in a silent auction with proceeds going to Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure. What better way to celebrate survival than to get your heart pumping at the third annual Spin for the Cure ride? Spinning Master Instructor Josh Taylor will be leading a four-hour spin-a-thon to raise awareness. There is a minimum donation of $150, which will be given to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.
