Cincy Chic: What makes your company different than other local planning companies?
Stephaney Theobald: I bring a unique mix of skills to the planning world. I am an Engineer by education and an Information Technology project manager by training. I'm now the owner and event coordinator of Impeccable Planning, which I launched in June 2007. So, in addition to the ordinary skills of creativity and planning, I have honed my abilities to solve problems quickly and effectively, focus on every detail with the edge of IT and efficiently manage things like budget and timelines.

My company is based on customer service and the flexibility to customize my services to meet whatever needs each unique client may have. I also offer a unique RSVP service that allows brides and event hosts to save time and money. The best part is that it significantly improves their headcount accuracy while saving them from the embarrassing task of calling guests who have not responded!

Cincy Chic: Why do you feel so passionate about what you do?
I love helping people. There’s nothing better than seeing someone truly enjoying their day and knowing that I helped to reduce or eliminate the stress that normally comes with hosting parties.

Cincy Chic: What's your favorite type of event to plan?
Weddings are my favorite because each one is so unique and the clients are always very excited. Theme parties are also really fun because they allow me to really get creative.

Cincy Chic: What's the best-planned event you've ever been to and why?
Unfortunately it’s easier for me to talk about the poorly planned events, because in order to make my events successful, I must learn from my past mistakes as well as the mistakes of others. However one event that stands out is the annual Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon. This is such a huge coordination of people and it always seems to come off without a hitch. Besides the obvious details of registering runners and setting up food vendors for after the race, there are so many other details that are required to make this event a success. I’m sure the organizing of this event has evolved over the years, but I think it’s a great example of successful event planning.

Cincy Chic: How do you feel about being a young female business owner and do you have any advice to share?
It’s thrilling to be a business owner because ultimately the future and success of my company are in my hands. The advice I would share with anyone looking to start up a business is to have a good solid business plan, advertising plan and Web site. Then, just go for it!

Cincy Chic: What's your favorite thing about Cincinnati?
The fact that my family is here. Beyond that, I can never pick just one. However, I do love Cincinnati sports and the increasing culture and diversity that’s coming to the area.
