So what’s there to do in Cincinnati on New Year’s Eve? You can stay at home and watch the ball drop with Ryan Seacrest and Dick Clark, but why not head out for one of the many events happening in our town?

  • Jeff Ruby’s restaurants all have special meals planned. Ring in the New Year at Bootsy’s with some tapas, or relax your way into the New Year while eating one of Ruby’s famous steaks at the Precinct; these are the poshest parties in town. Prices range from $75-100 per person. Visit the Website for more information.
  • Bang Nightclub is the place to be if you want to dance your way into the New Year with a big group of friends. You can get a table for you and nine of your best friends for $600, which includes two bottles of premium liquor and a bottle of Veuve Cliquot or Moet champagne.
  • Want a meal with a view? Primavista has their regular menu, but they’re open late so you can ring in the New Year with the prettiest view in town. Mainstrasse is one big party, with every place from Pachinko’s to Chez Nora‘s open for business. Drag your friends and pick your favorite spot to ring in the New Year (I’d pick Chez Nora!).

Feel like staying at home? Pick up your sparkling wine or Champagne a few days early to make sure you don’t get stuck with a bottle you don’t like, as this is the one time of year where everyone wants a bottle of bubbly to celebrate. Sofia, a California sparkling wine produced by Coppola, offers 4-packs of single-serving cans of champagne called Sofia Minis. They’re chic, inexpensive, and great if you (like me) don’t finish a bottle between two people. It’s a perfect, petite portion (complete with a tiny straw!). Use the extra cans to make mimosas in the morning!

Want some fancy eats at home without a lot of effort? Check out the new Fresh Fare at Kroger’s in Kenwood, which has tons of pre-made gourmet items for you to take home. It’s better than takeout Chinese and will make you feel like a million bucks (without spending it!).

Whatever you do this on December 31, be smart, be safe and have a chic New Year!
