Cincy Chic: Who’s behind Strut Resale Boutique?
Lisa Trusty, Owner of Strut Resale Boutique: I’m the one behind the boutique. I’m a Northern Kentucky native and previously owned a retail shop in Northern Kentucky for seven years.

Cincy Chic: What’s the inspiration behind the concept for Strut?
Trusty:I grew up in a middle class family who couldn’t always afford to outfit me in the style, fashion and name brands I loved, so the concept of a consignment shop that accepted gently pre-owned clothing and accessories that would allow someone the brands and fashions they craved at affordable prices has always been my dream. I also wanted the shop to have a boutique atmosphere whereas someone who may not normally enjoy consignment would be “wowed” by the feel of the store.

Cincy Chic: Where is the boutique located?
Trusty: You can find us at 7733 Mall Road in Florence, Ky., where the new Super Kroger Market Place just opened between Hallmark and Dress Barn in the Old Navy Plaza.

Cincy Chic: How and when did you Strut started?
Trusty: Our first location, which was ladies only clothing and accessories, opened just down the street from where we are now in October 2012. It was such a huge hit after one year in business that the store expanded to its current location in October 2013. We’re now three times out original size and also offer Men’s, Plus, Children’s 5T and up, Furniture and Home Decor.

Cincy Chic: What types of items do you offer customers?
Trusty: Strut offers something for the entire family. Whether you’re re-decorating your home or outfitting your family, we have something for everyone. With our layaway option you can own that Kate Spade or Michael Kors bag you’ve always wanted to perhaps even a beautiful leather sofa.

Cincy Chic: What makes Strut unique?
Trusty: Strut is unique because we offer our customers an amazing opportunity to make money and save money all in one place. There is no fee to consign and a 50/50 split unlike other consignment shops that typically offer clients 40%. We pay cash on the spot for designer and unique items. We’re totally computerized which allows us to even offer you a tax receipt for items donated on your behalf to local charities.
We also have personal shoppers to help you accessorize and find that new look you’ve been searching for or the perfect outfit for an upcoming event.

Cincy Chic: Is there anything new on the horizon?
Trusty: We’re hoping to open another location in the future an expand our Plus section.
