Cincy Chic: Who’s behind The Moving Concierge and what was the inspiration?
Lynda B., Founder of The Moving Concierge: I’m the one who developed The Moving Concierge is a Moving system. My background comes from 36 years as a Real Estate Broker. As the years went on, I saw several loopholes in the moving process. Yes, there are realtors, moving companies, even professional home stagers (I also taught staging to realtors for their continuing education), but what was lacking was a service that is basically hands-free for the family that’s moving.
Cincy Chic: When did The Moving Concierge open?
Lynda B.: The Moving Concierge opened in July 2011.
Cincy Chic: What services do you offer customers?
Lynda B.: First, there is what to explain to movers how much is being moved and how the family moving can save on these costs. Second, we tell customers what to do in preparation before the movers arrive. This includes removing lamp shades, emptying lawn mowers of gasoline and reminding customers that our movers do not transport plants and hazardous chemicals.
Our Executive service helps families with a list of all the people that need to be notified of their change of address. In this case, we can follow up with the notification to ensure that the changes were made. Then there is, of course, utilities that need to be shut off and turned on at both the old and new residence.
If the family is traveling by car, then this service will help each family member pack items that will make the trip more enjoyable. We also answer how you move with pets and how you can help your children look forward to the move. This service also sets up a medical doctor, dentist and veterinary for the new location. This way, the family is ready to continue their life in the new area, making it The Most Uninterrupted Move Ever. This is a one-of-a-kind service and is changing the way we look at making a move. It no longer is a drudgery but a great time to move with someone taking care of “All Things Considered Moving”.
Cincy Chic: How much do your services cost?
Lynda B.: This service is designed for the executive family by way of cost, time saving features and reduces stress. The cost is $1500/$1800 per move which covers an approximate time frame of eight weeks prior to moving and two weeks after the move.
Cincy Chic: What are your goals for the company?
Lynda B.:The ultimate goal for The Moving Concierge Services is to sell and train this system to large corporations, human resource departments, relocation companies and moving companies such as those in the medical field and sports arena.
Cincy Chic: Is there anything new on the horizon?
Lynda B/: We offer Tuesday Tips where we provide valuable information each week and deliver it to your email inbox. Also, Moving Made Easy is a Radio Talk show featuring guest speakers connected with the moving industry should be launched by the end of October 2014. The dates, topics and speakers will be listed on our website.
