Jamie Mulichak is a United Way Loaned Executive who helps volunteers and employees |
Cincy Chic: Can you tell us, what exactly is a United Way Loaned Executive?
Jamie Mulichak, United Way Loaned Executive: Loaned Executives are “on loan,” so to speak, from our employers to give United Way staff a hand during the annual campaign. We work with volunteers and employee campaign coordinators to establish and run workplace campaigns and develop campaign strategies.
Cincy Chic: What do you do when you’re not “on loan” to United Way?
Mulichak: I work at Fifth Third Bank as a consumer leadership program participant. Being able to work with United Way gives me some valuable experience in marketing, customer service and strategic planning that I can bring back with me to my job. It also gives me even more insight into the community’s needs and how United Way works to improve the community through its networks.
Cincy Chic: Can you tell us a little more about this year’s campaign for the United Way of Greater Cincinnati
Mulichak: Campaign co-chairs Michael Connelly (presidet/CEO of Catholic Health Partners) and his wife, Sally Connelly (community volunteer leaders), will be announcing this year’s campaign goal at our 2013 Campaign Kickoff August 28 at noon on Fountain Square. Who Dey and all the Reds’ mascots will be there to help unveil the goal as well! We’re inviting the community to grab some lunch at one of several food trucks that will surround the square and join us for some fun and live entertainment.
Cincy Chic: Are you excited about this year’s campaign?
Mulichak: This is going to be a really exciting campaign season. Many people know about United Way from their workplace campaigns, but we’re hoping to engage people outside of the workplace as well. The LIVE UNITED Lounge has been making its way around the Tri-State community and we’re also working to bring the Bold Goals for Our Region in education, income and health home by asking individual community leaders to personally endorse them.
Cincy Chic: Where can our readers go to learn more/donate to the campaign?
Mulichak: Your donation to United Way, no matter how large or small, will help improve lives and our entire community! But giving is just one way you can help. You should consider the gift of time; choose a cause closest to your heart and volunteer! Or consider lending your voice by signing up with our advocacy network to champion a cause! Go to www.uwgc.org to find out how you can Give. Advocate. Volunteer. You can find United Way of Greater Cincinnati on Facebook and Twitter. We also have a Blog, which can be found on our website, www.uwgc.org.
