Cincy Chic: What inspired you to start blogging?
Kristen Becker, Blogger for Wedding Row Kentucky: Libby and I never really set out to be bloggers, per se. It really kind of found us. We are both friends with the now past editor of Wedding Row Kentucky and after talking one day, she just threw it out in conversation that the two of us should take over the blog. We were both already very involved with the blog – I was writing guest posts at the time and Libby was having great success advertising with the blog. This area really lacked a good, inspirational wedding blog and we saw this as an opportunity to really do something great and fill a void.

Cincy Chic: What do you write about on Wedding Row Kentucky?
Becker: Wedding Row Kentucky is a wedding inspiration blog. We feature real weddings, entertainment ideas, DIYs and ideas on how to create your perfect wedding. We really love an eclectic mix of styles because we know not every bride is the same. The details and personal touches are what make each wedding unique, so we love to see the different ways brides are putting their thumbprint on their wedding. Libby and I also realize that great weddings are being planned all over the area – Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, West Virginia – so though we may say “Kentucky” in our URL, we’re looking everywhere for possible featured posts to inspire our readers.

Cincy Chic: What makes you different from other similar blogs?
Becker: Wedding Row Kentucky has a style, but we don’t pigeon-hole ourselves into one look. We welcome different. We even welcome weddings from outside of Kentucky. It’s important to Libby and I that we’re providing our audience with quality work that not only gets them excited, but leaves them feeling confident when they book one of our vendors. Libby and I also work in the wedding industry – she runs GlenLary Estate in Lexington and I run Five Dot Design in Newport – so we’re constantly surrounded by amazingness. Be it weddings, vendors, clients – our lives are filled with inspiration and ideas on how to provide the best content for our readers.

Cincy Chic: What are some of your favorite posts thus far?
Becker: My favorite has been this adorably small wedding at Richwood Plantation in Milton, Kentucky. Not only do I love the plantation itself, but this is a great example of an absolutely beautiful wedding that’s intimate, yet still simple. The other was this stunning farm wedding on the bride’s family farm. This one was much more over the top, but every detail was thought about and considered.

Cincy Chic: What are some of your favorite things about being a blogger?
Becker: Libby and I talk about this all the time. We love featuring all of these amazingly talented professionals and helping them grow their businesses while inspiring brides for their weddings. We love showcasing great work and great people. Then, of course, our days are filled pouring over gorgeous weddings. Can’t really beat that.

Cincy Chic: How long have you been blogging?
Becker: Libby and I have both been blogging for our own personal businesses for quite some time, but we’ve been blogging with Wedding Row Kentucky for about 3 months now.

Cincy Chic: How has the blog grown since you first started writing it?
Becker: Wedding Row Kentucky has really just been loved and accepted by everyone which whom we’ve chatted since we brought it out of it’s Summer Vacation mode, so to speak. When we are both working our personal businesses and we explain that we are also the editors of Wedding Row Kentucky, so many eyes light up and they’re excited this local blog has new life. We’ve signed on some great advertising vendors, our submission rate has been phenomenal and we’re building a solid readership.

Cincy Chic: Is there anything new on the horizon for Wedding Row Kentucky?
Becker: We have LOTS in the works, but we aren’t at liberty to give details just yet. With being on the down swoop of wedding season, we’re focusing on keeping great content on the blog, getting out in front of our readers and really just working hard for our advertisers.
