We get an update from the local catering gurus at Current Catering and the special they’re offering for holiday bookings.
A third generation family-owned business is making waves in the sea of local catering services.
In 1981, Ben Bernstein founded BB Riverboats and later opened Benson’s Catering. When the third generation of the Bernstein family took over, they changed the name from Benson’s to Current Catering to tie in the river aspect while re-branding with a hip, new name, says Senior Sales Manager at BB Riverboats Rick Menniger.
Current Catering is a full service catering company serving the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area who can cater from 15 to thousands of guests. Their largest catered event coming up in December will serve 5,000 guests.
They specialize in company lunches, wedding receptions, and even holiday parties, which will win you a VIP dinner cruise for you and up to four guests if you book with Current Catering.
Menniger says Current Catering is very flexible and prides themselves on being able to work in unique places. “We can come into your home, outside in the yard or a park. It doesn’t matter,” says Menniger. “We have everything we need to make the event perfect for any occasion.”
Customers can relax while Current Catering sets up, feeds their guests, and cleans up afterwards. Clients choose between a buffet or plated meal of the traditional menus, however they also specialize in food stations and off the menu orders a la cart. “There is nothing that we will not make,” says Menniger. “Our Executive Chef, Jesus Picazo loves cooking and looks forward to new and challenging themes and menus.”
Being from Cincinnati, they can’t help but have themed menus that feature the likes of classic Cincinnati chili, BBQ and rivertown favorites such as New Orleans jambalaya and St. Louis bread pudding. Menniger says he loves the Prime Rib and Beef Tenderloin, but his favorite is Chef Jesus’ fajita bar – where everything on it is made from scratch.
Right now, Menniger says holiday parties are filling up the books so they are thanking their customers with a special offer. “We are offering a free VIP dinner cruise for 2-4 guests if you book your holiday event with us in December or January,” says Menniger.
What sets Current Catering apart from others, Menniger says, is their commitment to the customer. “Our customers are our number one priority. With Current Catering, you are buying assurance that we will make you look good in front of your family, friends and guests,” says Menniger.
