Everyday Inspiration: Dare to Be YOU!

Everyday Inspiration: Dare to Be YOU!

by -

Dear Amazing Creatures,

“Who am I to be smart, talented, and fabulous? Who are you not to be? You are a child of God.” – Excerpt from Marianne Williamson

Whatever you are doing in your daily routine, are you doing it the way YOU want? Is it your version? For example, am I writing the words that I think you want to read or am I writing what’s in my heart? Expressing the true authentic expression of WHO I AM.

Like the artist who paints only to sell canvases vs. the artist who paints only what he loves on the canvas, regardless if it sells. Which one is living the authentic expression of who they came here to be? Which artist is sharing their truly unique gifts with us?

Most of us were raised by well-meaning people who taught us to fit in, to be ordinary, to survive. As an unintended consequence, we also then are raised with an awareness of how limited, not how VAST we are. Very often we believe that this limited me is the only true version that we must live with for the remainder of our lives.

Pair that with the devastating idea that we are trained to follow other people’s advice, being taught that others know what’s best for us. Thereby foregoing trust in our own direction in the process. Resulting in little hope that we will actually follow or be guided by that authentic voice screaming to be expressed.

As a result, many of us do the world a great disservice in withholding this original unique version of WHO WE ARE and sharing it with the world. Namely because we have lost touch with this part of ourselves long ago.

There is a brilliant movie out called, Million Dollar Arm in which there is a scene where the main character and his coach are together on a plane. It’s a climactic moment when the boy asks his coach a question which will affect the destiny of his entire life. “Do you think I’m ready, sir?”

In just the first three words of ‘Do you think?’ the boy has given his power away to another which sets up the coach into a powerful mind game that could propel him into a certain result.

The answer that the coach gives is brilliant. He replies, “It doesn’t matter what I think. What matters is what YOU think.” Putting the power and possibilities right back into the hands of that young boy.

I love this.

In order to get beyond what you currently think about yourself and the limitations you have, you must change your beliefs about them. Your life is played and lived out inside your mind. Everything is a result of the thought processes that go on inside that brain of yours.

Can you dare to be who you came here to be? Can you dare to show the world what it’s like to be uniquely you?

Can you dare to trust yourself? To make your own rules?

Can you dare to stop following the advice of those whom others have deemed wiser than you?

It is no longer necessary to ask. Trust yourself to find the answer and it will come.

“The kingdom of God is within you.” – Luke 17:21

What is it that the acorn emulates when it thrives and grows? Its unique highest expression. It grows into the image of its creator, the oak tree. It doesn’t question it or try to be less than it. It doesn’t ask a blade of grass for its advice or assistance to become itself. It is only programmed to thrive.

And so are YOU. You are no different than the acorn. You were created of the same material and have all that you need inside of yourself to grow into the vast expression of WHO YOU ARE.

Dare to be YOU. Holding back is a disservice. WHO YOU ARE and what you are here to share with the world will touch the lives of every person you encounter.

Are you Ready?
