What do friends, five miles and philanthropy have in common? The Inaugural “Girls Night Out Five Miler”, benefiting Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, on July 19 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.

“The idea behind this event is for women to accomplish a goal, feel empowered, have fun with new and old friends, and most importantly – to give back to a great cause!” says Amanda Snyder, Race Director.

The Mojo Sole Sisters, who are producing the event, is a women’s running group affiliated with Mojo Running, located in West Chester.

“It’s a group that formed from a love of running and a passion for helping others,” Snyder explains. “From our very first meeting, we decided as a group that our underlying goal was to give back to our community and to help empower women in our community.”

They have volunteered and participated in other local fundraising events, but knew they could do so much more. That’s when the idea of the Girls Night Out Five Miler was born.

The event will be held July 19 at Lindner Family Tennis Center, located at 5460 Courseview Drive in Mason, at 6 p.m. The cost to enter is $40, which includes women’s New Balance technical tank, finisher award, drink ticket (beer/wine/soft drink), entrance to the after party and “Expotique,” and entry for several raffle items and door prizes at the party.

Race organizers will also present age group awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place as well as overall race winner.

“Following the run/walk, we will host an incredible after party — as we say, ‘Run Now, Wine Later!’ — filled with good food, drinks, a DJ, dancing,” says Snyder.

All race proceeds will benefit Cincinnati Children’s HealthWorks! Camps Out program. To learn more, visit www.girlsnightoutrun.com or “like” them on Facebook.
