Zach Franke is the founder of Health Coach Zach

Zach Franke has always loved health and fitness. It wasn’t until recently, though, that he decided to turn that passion into a profession.

“Looking back, I feel like I have been preparing my whole life for it!” says Franke, founder of Health Coach Zach. “I’ve always had a deep interest in peopleā€¦ I could literally ‘people watch’ in a mall for hours and not get bored once.”

Then, at the age of 25, he had a realization that changed his life forever. “I was doing pretty well. I had a great marketing job, lots of friends and an active social life, but I didn’t feel like I was making any kind of real positive impact,” says Franke. “I was really just living life only for myself and that didn’t quite sit right with me. This was eating away at me because right around this same time I had this epiphany that if I wasn’t making a positive difference in the life of other people, ‘Why am I really here?.'”

He was working at a marketing firm in Mt. Adams called Empower MediaMarketing. “I owe so much of any of the success I have had to date and any success I will have in the future back to my years spent at Empower,” says Franke, adding that he learned marketing and media from the ground up there. “I got to work on brand name clients, and sharpened his professional skills. The job taught me the importance of attention to detail as well as the notion that customer service and the client’s needs always come first in business. A valuable lesson to learn, indeed. This experience in the ‘real world’ also made me better in my health coaching career, because I know exactly how the stresses of our jobs can affect our health on a daily and long term basis.”

Now, as the owner of Health Coach Zach, running his business full-time, he works with a variety of clients. Some who just want to shed that last pesky 10 pounds, and others who want to make a complete shift in their lifestyle. Franke says he first meets with clients with a one-on-one free consultation, where he listens intently on their current health status, goals, hopes, and dreams in a safe, relaxed, confidential environment. Then, he will discuss how he will be able to support the client through his services.

“It is not very often in today’s world that someone has another human being just listen to them without judgment. For many people, even the consultation can be a healing and motivating experience,” explains Franke. From there, if you decide to sign up for his program, you will work with Franke over the course of six months in his flagship program to get you from where you are now, to where you want to be.

“How my approach differs from a traditional ‘diets’ or weight loss programs out there is that most approaches to nutrition dwell on calories, carbs, fats, proteins. Instead of creating lists of restrictions and good and bad foods, I coach my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and free of denial and discipline,” says Franke.

Currently, the flagship six-month program is $200 per month, if you choose to pay on a monthly basis. However, if you pay for the program up front, you receive a $100 discount so that the total investment would be $1,100. “The way I like to talk about my program with prospective clients is to think of this not as an expense, but rather as an investment. A wonderful investment in you,” says Franke. “I tell people, if you break down the cost to a per day basis, it’s a little more than $6/day or about a person’s Starbucks habit to potentially change your entire life outcome.”

To grow his business, Franke says, he’s setting up partnerships with local area businesses to help set up a referral system. In addition, “I am going to begin group coaching, which will be at a much lower price point — $45-$75/month depending on the size of the groups — and I am going to start conducting free workshops all over Cincinnati,” says Franke.
