Attention vegan foodies! One local eatery is hosting a 3-course vegan Valentine’s Day dinner and has lots of other delicious events on deck. Click to learn all about them.
Melt Eclectic Cafe knows the way to a vegan’s heart. They’re hosting a “My Vegan Valentine” event on Saturday, Feb. 13, between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. featuring 3-courses from an entirely plant-based menu.
The cafe, located in the heart of Northside, typically offers lunch and dinner sandwiches, salads and soups. Lisa Colina, who is in charge of Public Relations and Events at Wellmann Brands, which now owns Melt as of last month, says that the event is already sold out, but they hope to offer more events like this in the future.
Although the My Vegan Valentine event sold out quickly, Colina says they plan to host more specialty events in the future, and you can always check out the restaurant for a yummy meal any day of the week. She says the restaurant is known for serving up local food with consideration for many diet preferences including vegetarian, gluten-free, vegan, and paleo.
“We offer several types of locally made breads, as well as a gluten-free bread option,” Colina explains. “Melt additionally offers both meat and plant based proteins, including a housemade seitan. We also offer seven signature salads with housemade dressings, and an award-winning vega chili and housemade soups, offered daily.”
It’s not just about the sandwiches, soups and salads at Melt, though. Colina says they also have sweet treats like cupcakes, cookies, and desserts to enjoy with a hot cup of coffee or tea. She adds that they’re featuring dishes, specials and upcoming events on their Facebook page so that’s the best way to keep up-to-date on all things Melt.
