A local restaurant invited the country’s most talented female pastry chefs and winemakers for pop-up brunches and bake sales. Get all the delicious details about these monthly events that are sure to please your palette.
If you love brunch and celebrating women, then the new monthly Please Bake Sales are for you. Located in Over-the-Rhine at the corner of 14th and Clay streets is Please, a low-key restaurant that offers creative food via an a la carte menu or a four-course menu.
To celebrate the city’s female pastry chefs and winemakers, the restaurant is hosting bake sales from May through August.
“The Please Bake Sale is part pop-up brunch, part bake sale, and wine celebration featuring exclusively female pastry chefs and winemakers,” says Please Owner and Chef Ryan Santos. “The format of the Sunday bake sales will be a little impromptu, you won’t know what we’re planning until the day before.”
Please has already made its mark in the Cincinnati food scene with a unique menu, and an even more unique bathroom, and aims to continue pleasing the taste buds of the city’s foodies with its upcoming bake sales.
“What makes this bake sale unique is hands down the talent we’re bringing into the city,” says Santos. “The top pastry chefs in the country, including Stella Parks of Bravetart in Lexington, Sasha Piligian of sqirl: Los Angeles, Zoe Taylor of milktooth in Indianapolis, Anna posey of Elske in Chicago, and May Erickson of Lang Baan in Portland.
What will be served at these monthly bake sales is completely unknown, as Santos says that he’s giving total control up to the ladies visiting the restaurant.
“We’re letting these very talented ladies decide what we’re serving,” he says.
Please is located at 1405 Clay Street in Cincinnati.
