Recently featured in Nation’s Restaurant News as one of the “hottest new concepts in America,” Piada Italian Street Food opens two Tri-State locations: One in Oakley’s Hyde Park Plaza, which is currently open, and the Mason store, which opens Friday, Nov. 8.

Piada adapts Italian food to the popular made-to-order casual restaurant style. The concept was created by Chris Doody, co-founder of the Bravo and Brio restaurant chains, and launched in Columbus.

Guests have three entree choices: the Piada is an Italian thin crust dough made from flour and olive oil, baked on a stone grill, then rolled up with fillings inside. There’s also a chopped salad or a pasta bowl. Choices for fillings and toppings include steak and Italian sausage, salmon, sauteed and fresh vegetables, sauces including Pomodoro, Alfredo and pesto. They are customizable, made to order as the guest moves down the serving line. There are also side dishes such as Piada sticks and calamari. Beverages include wine and beer and Italian sodas. Average check is less than $9.

Making it even easier to order, Piada now offers Chef’s Menu items for those who want easy ordering. Those options include:

The Piada Meatball Pasta
6oz Piada meatball made with ground beef, ricotta, fresh herbs and italian breadcrumbs. In that pasta dish you get angel hair pasta, the Piada meatball, pomodoro sauce and parmesan reggiano.

Crispy Calamari Piada with:
Calamari, Diavolo, creamy parmesan, mixed greens, sweet and spicy peppers and mozzarella all hand rolled in the signature Piada dough.

Pasta Carbonara:
Angel Hair pasta, grilled chicken, parmesan alfredo, pancetta, spinach, parmesan reggiano and bruschetta tomatoes.

The Hyde Park store is located at 3780 Paxton Ave. in the former TGI Friday’s. In Mason, it will be at 9317 Mason-Montgomery Rd. Both locations feature indoor and outdoor seating and will be open 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The first 100 visitors to the new Mason location on Nov. 8 will receive free Piada for a year!
