Marcie Brow, Event Coordinator for Ruffles and Rust Expo, describes the shopping event, being held this fall in Butler County, as a “traveling boutique show with a vintage flair!”

Ruffles and Rust Expo features hot ticket items like repurposed furniture inspired by the Magnolia Market farmhouse look as well as homemade accessories, gourmet food items, and clothing from vendors like Trouvaille the traveling boutique that’s new to Greater Cincinnati.

“There will be plenty of fashion, painted furniture, vintage, repurposed goods and handmade signs,” Brow says. “Pumpkin Spice is a big color trend this season that we expect to see plenty of it this year along with navy, florals, plaids and bold prints! Chunky, vintage-inspired jewelry is very popular and as always, so are the graphic t-shirts everyone can relate to.”

Shoppers will be able to relax and enjoy a glass of wine from the three local Ohio wineries that will be on site. In order to keep up your shopping energy a variety of handpicked food trucks will be available throughout the expo.

Trouvaille Traveling Boutique will also be at the Ruffles and Rust Expo in October.

Ruffles and Rust Expo is juried. For those of you that aren’t shopping fair fluent, jurying is the process of applying to be a vendor with an organized show. It works to ensure top notch shopping, which is exactly what Ruffles and Rust Expo has set out to provide during their three years in business. “Ruffles and Rust Expo was created from a passion for decorating and a desire to help other local business grow and succeed,” Brow explains. “The [Ruffles and Rust Expo] founder, Camey Maldonado, adores all things sparkly and funky but her husband prefers old rusty things.”

Brow, entrepreneur, mother and military wife is originally from Texas and has a deep passion for interior design. She opened her first shop in Wichita Falls, Texas, and met Maldonado, who at the time owned a shop right across the street from Brow. And a friendship was born.

“While Ruffles and Rust Expo was on the rise and talks of expansion to other states on the horizon my husband received orders to move to Ohio in early 2015, so I sold the business I loved but began to dream big again for my new adventure,” Brow says. “After settling in Ohio, Camey and I decided it was time to partner and make the dream happen. Ruffles and Rust Expo would travel to Ohio!”

This fall is Ruffles and Rust Expo’s Ohio debut, taking place October 8-9 at the Butler County Fairgrounds and will return March 2017. Tickets can be purchased at the event for $5 and children 12 and under are free. Visit Ruffles and Rust Expo’s website, Facebook page, or Instragram to learn more.
