Christy Cotterman set out on a mission to show people struggling with pain, trauma, anxiety, stress or depression that they can change their mindset, release trapped and negative emotions from their bodies, reduce stress and live a happier, healthier life. In order to do this, Cotterman launched her own local business, Wholly Healing, in August 2012.

“Wholly Healing operates on the belief that, in order to be full of vitality and live in a state of good health, we must take good care of our physical, spiritual, mental and emotional health,” explains Cotterman.

When it comes to the Wholly Healing Experience, stress management, relaxation and healthy living are all important factors to our overall health. However, she says the main focus as Wholly Healing is the emotional release of pent up emotions, past trauma and negative thinking which all too often can keep us from living the life we truly want to live.

While it’s easy to get caught up in a busy life, Cotterman says being happy and healthy can really only happen when one manages stress, learns to relax and lives healthier. Instead of suppressing emotions and living in a chronic state of stress, which Cotterman says can cause insomnia, headaches, digestive issues, physical pain and a variety of other problems, she suggests “learning to let and let live” is the way to be.

Cotterman is a certified holistic life coach who specializes in emotional healing. “I love spending time with my husband, two dogs and two cats,” she says. “Gardening, hot tea, meditation, friends and healthy foods make me happy and thanks to my own personal trials and healing, my purpose and passion have aligned, and I’ve designed my dream life.”

The inspiration for Wholly Healing came from Cotterman’s own natural healing journey through anxiety, depression and chronic stress. “Through my heartache, brokenness and loss of self, I recognized the importance of true healing—walking through my pain, rather than skirting around it or suppressing it,” she says. “Walking through the pain brought healing beyond what I could have ever imagined and I love my life more than I ever have. This gift of healing is something I want every single person to experience—to know that they are beautiful, powerful and have a purpose that is waiting to be discovered.”

Through Wholly Healing, Cotterman wants to help others get rid of the things that get them stuck, prevent them from living a life they love and encourage them to discover the potential and beauty that lies deep within themselves.

She says that while life sometimes brings challenges that break the spirit and leave us feeling like we don’t know who we are anymore, Wholly Healing is here to help women, men and children break free from the limiting belief systems, toxic emotions and self-sabotaging habits that prevent them from pursuing dreams, being happy and enjoying life.

Cotterman’s Wholly Healing Experience sessions and packages start at $125 and there are several available, which you can learn more about here. These packages include emotional healing, stress management techniques, relaxation and education for living a healthy lifestyle. There are also group classes/education/workshops that are held periodically and listed on the Wholly Healing website.

Cotterman’s Wholly Healing Experiene has helped more than just those in the Tri-State, she says that she’s helped people in five states from Ohio to Tennessee and all the way to Texas. “It’s my hope to expand to helping people all across the U.S. this year,” she adds.
