As the owner of an upscale women’s resale boutique in Baltimore for 9 years, Stephanie Torrible built quite a business.

Not only was her store “Wear It’s At” voted Best of Baltimore by Baltimore Magazine and frequently featured in local media, the store also amassed nearly 20,000 fans on Facebook. But a job opportunity for her husband brought their family to Cincinnati, which led her to sell her store.

With growing up on the East Coast and attending graduate school in Los Angeles, Torrible had never lived in “the middle” before. “After getting acclimated and realizing what an amazing place Cincinnati is, I noticed that there was something I could bring to the table,” she says. Torrible not only wants to make high end designers more accessible and more affordable, but she wants to bring what she calls “a bit of the east coast edge” to the midwest.

Torrible says her new store, “The Runway’s EDGE,” does just that. Located in Montgomery, and officially opened on Black Friday, the store is the area’s only high-end women’s designer resale shop that features on trend, unique, fashionable and authentic designer clothing, bags and accessories.

The store isn’t just about the fashion, though. “My store was a catalyst with which I was able to pursue my passion for helping others by using resources from the store to help further the objective of various charities in the community,” Torrible says.

In fact, Torrible was honored with the Spirited Women in Business Award for women who are making extraordinary contributions to their community. She was also recognized as the “Giving Goddess of the Decade” by Suited to Succeed, a welfare to work program, in May 2012.

Torrible says she’s spent the past year here in Cincinnati building The Runway’s EDGE concept and officially opening the store. She’s using much of the success she found in Baltimore as part of the foundation for The Runway’s EDGE, which includes staying true to the mission of helping those around her.

Torrible says that part of what makes The Runway’s EDGE unique is that is look more like you’re walking into a high-end boutique in New York. “We have have Chanel, Dior, Hermes, etc., but I’ve mostly heard comment about how different and fun the items are,” she says. “It’s audacious, offbeat, diverse and eccentric.”

“I plan to mix that vibe with what made my previous store unparalleled – integrity, laughter, fun and style,” she adds.
