Paolo A Modern Jeweler

Date night, dinner, wine, desserts, chauffeur and diamonds… sounds like a dream, right? One local jeweler is making it a reality. Read on for all the details.

Paolo’s, a modern jeweler, offers Diamond Date Night, which includes dinner, car service and the chance to design a piece of jewelry.

Paolo Salamone and a group of designers formed Paolo, A Modern Jeweler, in 1993. The jeweler specializes in custom, modern jewelry designs including platinum, gold, silver, diamond and gemstone jewelry.

“Paolo’s designs, while heavily influenced by the older Italian traditionalists on staff, are inspired by several younger designers and jewelers, graduates of the University of Cincinnati School of DAAP, the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts and the Gemologist Institute of America, keeping the modern design current with new trends,” explains Salamone.

As one of the premier jewelers in the region, Paolo’s wanted to offer something special for its clients, and the “Diamond Date Night” package was created.

Paolo’s Date Night package takes pressure off the purchasing client, allowing their loved one to design. “It’s all about the Paolo Experience,” says Salamone. “We provide a very relaxed studio setting.”

Clients choose a diamond, gemstone or an unstrung strand of pearls before their planned visit. They’re then presented the bauble along with a design certificate, allowing the couple to set up a time to visit.

The date night begins with a luxury car service, wine and chocolates as you make your way to Paolo’s. You then complete your $500 jewelry makeover using your jewelry design certificate.

Paolo staff can either design, redesign, refresh or recreate a piece of jewelry. “Paolo and staff clean, repair and appraise your favorite jewelry pieces,” says Salamone. “Any old or unwanted jewelry may be utilized for design or redesign, trade-in or swap for new jewelry, clients may also choose from our extensive Ready-To-Wear or Estate Collections.”

After visiting Paolo’s studio, the car service takes the couple to enjoy dinner at Harvest Bistro in Clifton, and then it takes them home.

According to Salamone, the basic Date Night package starts at $500, with the average package costing $1,500 to $2,000. “The client can customize the package to include an evening at 21c Museum Hotel, an event at the Aronoff or dinner at Prime 47 for other options,” he says.

To help make Date Nights even better, Salamone says that many Date Nights are offered to charitable groups throughout the year. “They’re very popular on the charitable circuit,” he says. Last year, Salamone says Paolo Jewelers helped raise over $250,000 through its charitable activities.
